ScienceWise Kickoff
Who: Teachers, grades K-12 What: Come spend an evening experiencing the joys, trills, and sense of wonder in science and science teaching with an exciting presenter. Known as "Techno Sage" by his colleagues, Sage Arnote taught middle school science for 8 years and has been an Instructional Technology Director for the Independence School District for the last 2 years. As an adjunct professor for UMKC, Sage worked with other instructors to creat a nwe class "Developing Technology Enriched Lesson Plans." The program focuses on combining quality resources with creative pedagogical strategies for technology integration. ScienceWise Courses
Who: Teachers, grades K-12 What: ScienceWise courses are back with new topics- two of which is a new exciting online courses! Registration is required for all courses with payment. Course cost is $15 for every four hours of course time. Registration is now available online! In addition, one hour of graduate credit is offered for every 12 hours of class time for $50 from UMKC, Baker University or Park University payable at the first course session teacher attends. Science Fair Kickoff
Who: Teacher, novice and experienced, considering or planning to have students do science fair projects this year. What: Learn how to organize a science fair, generate ideas for projects and use activities to motivate students. Learn the basic rules for the Greater Kansas City Science & Engineering Fair and how to access them in more detail. For registration form click here. Teacher Resource Day
Who: Teachers grades K-12 What: ScienceWise Teacher Resource Day includes a Teacher Share-A-Thon and a Science Resource Expo. Master teachers will be on hand sharing new exciting lessons. Kansas City Metro area science education organizations will be present to share the wonderul opportunities they have for teachers and studetns throughout the school year and metro area.
