Science Pioneers Presents 2010-2011 Teacher Awards
Who: Teachers in grades 4-12
What: Three Teacher Awards
- The Howard Gadberry Award in the amount of $500 sponsord by the Howard Gadberry family is designed to recognized teachers in grades 4-12 who show outstanding effort toward the motivation of students in scientific exploration.
- The Sister Martina Rockers Excellence in Teaching Award (SMETA) in the amount of $1000 sponsored by Ken-A-Vision is designed to recognize teachers in grades 9-12 with at least 20 years teaching experience.
- The Teaching Environmental Stewardship Award (TESA) sponsored by Kansas City Environmental Education Network (KCEEN) in the amount of $500 is designed to recognized 4-12 teachers with outstanding efforts in environmental education.

When: Nominations are due by January 21, 2011 and applications are due by February 18, 2011.
Where: Nomination and Application forms are due to Science Pioneers offices (30 W. Pershing, Ste. 410, Kansas City, MO 64108) Awards will be presented at the Greater Kansas City Science and Engineering Fair Awards Ceremony from 10:00am to 12:00pm on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the Crown Center Exhibit Hall B.
Why: To honor outstanding teachers for their contribution of science knowledge to the many students passing through their classrooms. |
