  2012-2013 Teacher Award

  

 

The following teacher awards are to honor outstanding teachers for their contribution of science knowledge to the many students passing through their classrooms. 

Local Award: The Howard Gadberry Award in the amount of $500 sponsored by the Howard Gadberry family is designed to recognize teachers in grades 4-12 who show outstanding effort toward the motivation of students in scientific exploration.

Who: Kansas City area teachers in grades 4-12

When: Nominations due by January 18, 2013 and applications due by February 15, 2013

Where: Award will be presented at The Charles N. Kimball Awards Ceremony on March 16, 2013 from 10:00am-12:00pm at 2103 Bartle Hall, Kansas City, MO Convention Center

An additional opportunity to recognize a outstanding teacher nationally! 

The Sister Martina Rockers Excellence in Teaching Award (SMETA) sponsored by Ken-A-Vision is designed to recognize teachers with at least 10 years teaching experience within the same building in the areas of science, math, or computer science. The award recipient will receive $1000 in Ken-A-Vision products, $1000 in cash, and an all expense paid trip to the 2013 NSTA National Conference among other benefits.

Who: Teachers in grades 6-12 throughout the United States

When: Completed awards application due by January 18, 2013

Where: Presented at the 2013 NSTA National Conference in San Antonio, Texas
