Who: Teachers in grades 4-12

What: Two Teacher Awards

• Howard Gadberry Award
  This award in the amount of $500 sponsored by the Howard Gadberry family is designed to recognize teachers in grades 4-12 who show outstanding effort toward the motivation of students in scientific exploration.
• Sister Martina Rockers Excellence in Teaching Award (SMETA)
  This award in the amount of $1000 sponsored by Ken-A-Vision is designed to recognize teachers in grades 9-12 with at least 20 years teaching experience.

When: Nominations are due by January 20, 2012 and applications are due by February 17, 2012.

Where: Nomination and Application forms are due to Science Pioneers offices (30 W. Pershing, Ste. 410, Kansas City, MO 64108)

Awards will be presented at the Greater Kansas City Science and Engineering Fair Awards Ceremony from 10:00am to 12:00pm on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the Sheraton Hotel, Crown Center Exhibit Hall B.

Why: To honor outstanding teachers for their contribution of science knowledge to the many students passing through their classrooms.
